Becka LaFluer is a multidisciplinary artist crafting portals to other worlds. Rooted in experimentation, her practice explores the boundaries of material, texture, and perception. Each piece is a layered construction of paint, sculpted form, and emotional residue that invites the viewer into a space where magic and melancholy intertwine.
Driven by curiosity and a refusal to stay in one lane, Becka blends fine art and fantasy, distortion and beauty. Her work often plays at the edges of decay and transformation, reflecting inner worlds and dreamlike states. Whether through tactile surfaces, luminous palettes, or unexpected mediums, she conjures moments that feel otherworldly.
She creates from her New Jersey studio and is a founding member of Asbury Art Club, a new artist-led space near the Asbury Park boardwalk. Becka’s work is in active evolution, building toward immersive bodies of work that resonate deeply with those who find wonder in the strange, soft, and otherworldly.
“I make art to honor the in-between. My figures often live in contradiction, divine but undone, childlike but ancient, hollow yet full. They are vessels for emotions that don’t fit in language. Through texture, color, and form, I try to give shape to what’s usually buried: grief, desire, self-forgiveness.”
